PhD Research Projects
At IMPRS-CPQM, we offer a variety of research projects which cover the entire scope of research performed at MPI-CPfS. Every PhD project will have at least one supervisor based at MPI-CPfS and one at one of the partner universities. For all projects, we envision an active involvement of both supervisors in the actual research and students may spend time at either institution to work on their project.
At the bottom of the page, we also advertise a few projects which are supervised by our PIs and close collaborators of our IMPRS, respectively, but which don't fall completely within the framework of IMPRS-CPQM.
As several of our projects are close to the boundaries between chemistry and physics or even cross them, the specified categories ("project type") are mostly an indicator on which aspects of our research topics the project will focus.
Currently, we can offer the following projects:
The projects below are offered by PIs of IMPRS-CPQM or close collaborators of our program. At the same time, these projects are not part of IMPRS-CPQM in a strict sense. The latter could mean, for example, that you would be registered at a university which does not formally participate in IMPRS-CPQM or that some other aspect of IMPRS-CPQM would not apply in your case.
You can apply for these projects in the same way as it is described for the IMPRS-projects, i.e. just include them in the list of projects for which you'd like us to consider your application.
