Directions & Contact

By car

If you approach Dresden via motorway A4, change to motorway A17 (direction to Prag) at the interchange Dresden-West. At the exit Dresden-Südvorstadt, follow road B170 in the direction Stadtmitte for about 2.5 km until you reach the second major crossing (sign "Plauen"). There, turn left into Nöthnitzer Straße. The institute (with a red wall at the entrance) is situated on the left side of the street after about 600 m.
From the inner city follow the signs A17 (B170 - Prag). The B170 crosses the campus of TU Dresden. Follow the sign "Plauen" at the next junction and turn right into Nöthnitzer Straße.

For parking, please enter the drive named "Anlieferung MPI-CPfS" and park in the marked area.

By train and long-distance bus

Both railway stations Hauptbahnhof Dresden and Bahnhof Dresden-Neustadt also serve as main stops for most long-distance bus lines. From either station, the tram line 3 (destination Coschütz) will take you to the stop "Plauen Nöthnitzer Straße". Turn to the left into the Nöthnitzer Straße and pass the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (building with orange/wooden front). Our institute is located in the next building on the right side of the street (red wall at the entrance area).

By plane

From the airport, take the S-Bahn line 2 to the Dresden Central Station (Hauptbahnhof Dresden). From there, take tram line 3 (destination Coschütz) at the stop outside the station. Get off at the stop "Plauen Nöthnitzer Straße", turn left into the Nöthnitzer Straße and pass the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (building with orange/wooden front).
