Some of the MPI-CPfS PhD students at their retreat to Berlin in September 2017
Welcome to the International Max Planck Research School for Chemistry and Physics of Quantum Materials (IMPRS-CPQM), a tri-institutional collaboration of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden, Technische Universität Dresden and the University of St Andrews. Our school differs from most other IMPRS in that we also have a UK university as a full-scale formal partner in our school.
By working together, we can create a highly attractive overall package of PhD level research on materials chemistry and physics including access to world-leading facilities, a large range of graduate level courses across both disciplines, and specially designed skills training (both academic and non-academic).
Our goal is to recruit PhD students from all over the world, and offer them an internationally leading PhD programme. In short, we want to create a cohort of lively, enthusiastic PhD students who relish international opportunities and the chance to work at the cutting edge of our field.
