PhD retreat 2022
After a more than two year long break, doctoral students of the institute across departments and research groups once again gathered at a retreat, which this time took them to Garching by Munich. Each of the participants presented their research in a short talk or a poster. Both talks and posters lead to very stimulating discussions and exchange of ideas among participants. The highlight of this retreat was a visit to the Heinz Meier-Leibnitz neutron source. Our group was guided by beam scientists and received an excellent introduction to the facility and the different neutron scattering techniques that are implemented within this research center.
Beyond the scientific program, participants also had plenty of time to get to know each other through team building activities, got a chance to visit impressive exhibitions of Deutsches Museum and sample traditional Bavarian cuisine.
