Welcome to IMPRS-CPQM!

The International Max Planck Research School for Chemistry and Physics of Quantum Materials (IMPRS-CPQM) is a tri-institutional collaboration of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden, Technische Universität Dresden and the University of St Andrews.

By working together, we create a highly attractive overall package of PhD level research on materials chemistry and physics including access to world-leading facilities, a large range of graduate level courses across both disciplines, and specially designed skills training (both academic and non-academic).

We recruit PhD students from all over the world, and offer them an internationally leading PhD programme. This results in a cohort of lively, enthusiastic PhD students who relish international opportunities and the chance to work at the cutting edge of our field.
