Impressions from the selection workshop

Last week, 19 candidates for positions in the IMPRS-CPQM visited us in Dresden to attend our annual selection workshop. The excellent candidates from all over the world made the workshop a vibrant and exciting event for everyone involved. We sincerely thank all the candidates for taking the time for their visit, the effort they put into their presentations and the highly  interesting interactions and discussions during their visit. We are particularly excited to know that the candidates enjoyed the experience at the workshop as well, even though their program was very busy. 

All participants appeared to have a great time at the selection workshop.

we were offered insights into many exciting fields of research.

One important aspect of the workshop was the interaction of the candidates with current students at the institute, here during their weekly Cake Meeting.

Our students also introduced the candidates to the diverse research activities in our program.

The candidates had an opportunity to visit several laboratories and facilities, across different departments and groups, ...

hear about a selection of research projects, ...

and learn directly from the source, what it means to be a student in IMPRS-CPQM.

Thanks to all our guides for their time and effort, which went into the lab tours! 

In the evening, some of our students took the candidates out for a well-deserved dinner ...

and also showed them the highlights in the city of Dresden.
