Congratulations to Chia-Chi and Natalia!
While things often wind down during the summer months - be it because students travel internationally to present their work at conferences or to take some time off - two of our students had a particularly eventful summer. Over the last weeks, Chia-Chi Yu and Natalia Gloriozova both successfully defended their respective thesis. Both worked in the department for Chemical Metal Science of Prof. Juri Grin at MPI CPfS; Natalia pursued her work on “Nitridochromates of Alkaline-Earth Metals: Synthesis, Structure, and Characterization” under the supervision of Dr. Peter Höhn, Chia-Chi’s project titled “Gallides of Alkali-Metals: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, Characterization, and Reactivity” was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Michael Baitinger.
We would like thank both of them for serving as PhD representatives at the MPI CPfS - Natalia in the academic year 2019/20 and Chia-Chi from 2020 to 2022 - and contributing greatly to the community of students at the institute.
We wish them all the best for their career and look forward to seeing them again in the future.
