Impressions from the retreat

Our PhD students visited Heidelberg.

This year, the PhD retreat took our students to Heidelberg. All students had the chance to present their research to other students across departments in either a short talk or poster presentation, which led to stimulating discussions between participants. Furthermore, the students visited the Haus der Astronomie where we were guided by student volunteers from the MPI for Astronomy through a virtual tour of our universe and also got the chance to visit the Königstuhl Observatory.

Besides the scientific activities, the students got to know each other better through team building activities, including a visit to the historic Heidelberg castle.
