Prof. Yasuoka offers lecture series on NMR/NQR
Prof. Hiroshi Yasuoka, former director of the Institute for Solid State Physics at the University of Tokyo and the Advanced Science Research Center of the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, has long-standing collaborations with the department for the Physics of Quantum Materials at MPI CPfS and is a frequent and always very welcome visitor to the institute. As part of his current visit, he will offer a lecture series on the principle of Nuclear Magnetic and Quadrupole Resonances (NMR/NQR) and their applications to magnetic and superconducting materials. In five lectures, he will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to NMR
- Phenomenological theory of NMR and NQR
- Experimental technique - Pulsed NMR
- Static Hyperfine Interaction
- Dynamical Hyperfine Interaction
- Applications - recent advances in exotic materials
The lecture series will start on 4 September. Details will be announced separately.
